We are pleased to announce that as a school, we will be welcoming guest speaker Stu Cabe into our Advisory classes (via Zoom) on Friday, November 5, to talk to students about choosing kindness, to think and act as a leader, and to positively influence the Skyview community. Thank you to our generous PTSA for partnering with us to make this happen.

Stu Cabe spoke at Skyview several years back, and he's recently been a guest at our neighboring middle schools. Stu's company is The Ovation Company, and his background is perfect for our school because he is an animated public speaker but he also taught in high school and middle school, and is an advocate for education of young people. We urge you to watch this quick sample of the message he will be providing to our students, as we kick off our year of learning and growth as a school community. You will also find out why being a BIG elephant is cool!

As a school, we are aware that these past 18 months have left our students a bit unsure how to act in school, express their feelings, relate with peers, and understand traditional roles student leaders can bring to campus. Being away from their school environment for a year and a half left a gap, and we are hoping to fill in some of the missing pieces to help our students flourish.

Additionally, we are pulling together a group of about 30 students (10 from each grade), on recommendation from the Skyview staff. These kids will all come from varied backgrounds and have different interests. The school counselors will be working with this group of students to brainstorm and proactively implement ideas and themes to positively impact the school’s culture and climate. We hope that this group will grow in number throughout the year.
