2017-18 REFLECTIONS CONTEST STUDENT CONTRIBUTIONS!

We will advertise in the fall of 2018 for the next National Reflections Art Contest.


 The Skyview PTSA is excited to announce the

National Reflections Art Contest

for the 2017-2018 school year! 

 

What is Reflections?

  • The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.
  • Reflections is so much more than "just an art contest."  
    • It helps kids take risks
    • Kids can be inspired
    • It helps students think creatively 
    • They can receive positive recognition
    • Students will be celebrated for their works of art
    • It also allows our community to celebrate creativity in our students!
  • The 2017-2018 theme is "WITHIN REACH".
  • All entries are due no later than November 13th, 2017.

Submission Types:

  • A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas. Only original works of art are accepted. The six art areas are:
    1. Literature – works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prose, drama, short stories and lyrics.
    2. Music Composition – original musical composition, with or without words.
    3. Photography: color or black and white, including techniques: photo-gram, retouched, montage, sandwich and multiple exposure.
    4. Visual Arts: drawing, painting in tempera, oil, acrylic, watercolor & t-shirt paints, computer generated art, two-dimensional collage, printmaking, needlework & leather tooling.
    5. Film/Video: original works, with or without sound, of animation, narrative, documentary, experimental or music video/film.
    6. Choreography/Dance: originally choreographed dance composition.

 

Rules:

  • Student works are critiqued against others in the same grade division.
  • All students at Skyview will be a part of the Middle School division.

  • Students may enter in more than one category, but only once per category.
