Mission and Goals Approved

At the recent Skyview PTSA general membership meeting, updated mission and goals were presented and unanimously approved by the attendees. These revisions mark an important step in shaping the future direction of the PTSA, aligning its objectives with the evolving needs of the Skyview community.

Standing Rules, Financial Update, and Membership

In addition to the mission and goals approval, the meeting covered several key areas. The standing rules for the upcoming year (2023-2024) were reviewed and given the green light. Financial matters were also on the agenda, with September and August financial reports presented to provide transparency and accountability. Notably, a proposed budget for the year ahead, including an allocation of an extra $400 for multicultural night, garnered approval, underscoring the commitment to enriching the Skyview experience. On the membership front, the PTSA proudly announced a current membership count of 194, with an ambitious target set at 300 members. Furthermore, discussions surrounding staff sponsorships and member recruitment highlighted the PTSA's dedication to fostering a strong sense of community within Skyview.

Upcoming Events and Initiatives

The meeting concluded with an overview of upcoming events and initiatives. The first staff appreciation event is scheduled for November 3rd, with additional dates in the pipeline to express gratitude to the dedicated Skyview staff. The annual Reflections contest, with the theme "I am hopeful because...," was introduced, and entries are due by November 17th. The PTSA also celebrated its successful food pantry initiative, having made its first delivery to 27 families on September 27th, with plans underway for distributing Thanksgiving meals.
